A story doesn’t begin when I press the shutter. It begins long before I arrive.
Every event, every gathering, and every space carries a history. There are people who brought it to life, emotions moving through it, and moments waiting to unfold.
For me, documentary photography is more than being present with a camera. It’s about understanding the people, feeling the atmosphere, and observing the little things that others might overlook.
Sometimes, the most meaningful photograph requires patience. I watch, I listen, and I try to anticipate what might happen next. Then, when the moment arrives, I press the shutter.
I don’t want to interrupt a story just to create a beautiful photograph. I want to capture it as it truly happens, with all its imperfections, emotions, and unexpected details.
Because the moment may last only a second, but the story behind it deserves to live much longer.
